The crowd favorite at our 2017.Healthy.New.You. workshop was the Personal Energy Inventory assessment. From popular demand, here’s the .pdf link: PersonalEnergyInventory
Use this worksheet to turn your energy drainers into energy enhancers. For example, if you have a goal to lose 10 pounds this year, don’t focus on the weight you need to lose or what you are giving up. Instead, focus on what you are going to gain as a result of your commitment to change!
- Saying yes when I mean no
- Mindless TV or internet surfing
- Trying to change other people
- Not completing things that I start
- Arguing with my spouse
- Not exercising
- Quality time with my family and friends
- Speaking my truth
- Taking action on my goals
- Chiropractic Lifestyle Care
- Date night with my spouse
- Being involved in causes I believe in
- Expressing gratitude
- Reading good books
Remember, this tool is a great to help focus your energy on your ideal 100 year lifestyle. There are four components of living well for the next 20, 30, 40, 50 years and beyond: Neurology, Nutrition, Endurance, Strength and Structure. With your newfound energy, make inroads in all four of these areas to meet your lifetime goals.
Three Life Changing Principles
The three life changing principles will help you keep going on your goals:
- Change is easy. Thinking about change is hard.
- Think progress, not perfection.
- Begin with your 1oo Year Lifestyle in mind.
Write Your Goals Down
Don’t forget to write down your goals. A study by Dr. Gail Matthews of the Dominican University in California found that of 267 people, those that wrote down their goals and dreams on a regular basis achieved those desires at a significantly higher level than those who didn’t. 42% more likely – simply by writing them down on a regular basis.
Whether you wrote down any goals at the end of December or not, take this opportunity to write down the changes you know you need to make in your life right now….
(Really, write them down somewhere. Even just a couple. Put it in your calendar, text your mom, make a note in your iphone. Remember, you’re WAY more likely to achieve what you want if you write them down.)
……. and also write down a few goals that you want to achieve long term.
(Yes, again, do it RIGHT NOW. It only takes a minute, and then remember, you will be more likely to hit your goal and you already went over where to find more energy to get this done. )
