8-week Healthy.New.You Challenge


Join us on an 8-week Healthy.New.You Challenge where you will be inspired, encouraged and challenged to take steps towards eating well, thinking right, and moving well. Led by Dr. Bob Cummins and his team, you will be fully supported and encouraged throughout the Challenge in order to meet your goal: Healthy. New. You. 2013.

KICK OFF: We will kick off the 8 weeks with a fun Workshop on January 17th from 7:00pm-8:00pm. There will be healthy and delicious appetizers and refreshments. At the workshop, Olympic gold medalist, Anna Cummins, will outline the details of the program and give you tools to take charge of your life and take charge of your health.

ACCOUNTABILITY: As we go through these 8 weeks, you will be encouraged by our team here at Cummins Chiropractic and Wellness with multiple support tools.

  • DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT: Daily Emails will include inspiring stories, tips, recipes and exercises that you can do from home. These emails are designed to keep you focused and on track.   Feel free to respond, ask questions and keep us updated on your progress.
  • WRITTEN ACCOUNTABILITY: Want to know if you are making progress? We’ll be writing it down.  During the challenge, we’ll use a simple log to track daily accountability.  If we write it down, we’re ten times more likely to meet our goals!  For those who want to bench mark their progress, you will begin the Challenge with  an initial Creating Wellness Assessment, and after 8 weeks, you’ll complete another Creating Wellness Assessment, showing progress (hopefully!) in each area measured.  Divided into Eat Right, Think Well, and Be Fit – by working on our whole health, we’ll make whole progress.
  • GROUP ADRENALINE: There is power in numbers.  That’s why each Saturday, we’ll meet up for group adrenaline. We will be doing 1 hour Fun Run/Walk Saturdays for the 8-weeks.  This will include a warm up, run/walk session and a cool down. This is a great time for us to connect face-to-face outside of your regular chiropractic appointments and help keep everyone accountable. Although the Saturdays are not required to participate in the 8-week challenge, we highly encourage you to join us.
  • TEAM WALK/RUN: The Cummins Chiropractic and Wellness team will also be participating in the Lake Sammamish Half Marathon on March 9th and we would love for you to join. The Lake Sammamish Half Marathon takes runners along the smooth gravel trail that connects Marymoor Park in Redmond to Lake Sammamish State Park in Issaquah. This interurban trail is very popular with runners; about 60% of the course will be on fast, smooth gravel surface and 40% on pavement. They also offer a half-marathon walk category with a generous 4 hour time limit. This flat run is perfect for a half-marathon personal best whether you’re running or walking! CELEBRATE YOUR WINS WORKSHOP: We will celebrate the end of our Healthy. New. You Challenge with a fun Workshop on March 21st from 7:00pm-8:00pm. There will be healthy and delicious appetizers and refreshments. At the workshop, Olympic gold medalist, Anna Cummins, will review our wins and our challenges so that as we move forward, we continue to move towards better health.

The truth is that the Healthy.New.You 8 week challenge is not just about running a marathon to week 8 and then collapsing at the finish line. It is actually more about the journey. It is not just about a quantity of days. It is about the quality of the quantity, and the many life changing years to follow. So whether you make it to the age of 80, 90, 100, or 110, you make the most of every one of them along the way because of the life changing steps you take over the next 8 weeks. The environments you create—both the internal environment within your mind and body and the external environment where you live, work and play—will have a lot to do with how much you enjoy your journey.
